The Second Committee of the General Assembly, ECOFIN, is tasked with formulating recommendations to deal with international issues of economic growth, development, and stability. All member states of the UN form part of this committee. Recently, ECOFIN has also been focused on meeting the Millennium Development Goals outlined at the Millennium Summit held in 2000.
