A medium-sized, double-delegation committee, the UNDP was established in 1966 to finance and provide technical assistance development projects around the world. Most recently, it has focused on projects that will help achieve the Millennium Development Goals. Past topics have included microfinance, the global water crisis, and relieving the crisis in Darfur.
