Description:
As nations continue to develop in an increasingly global age, the rights of man remain an essential part of all cultures. Only a few years since its inception in 2006, the Human Rights Council holds the responsibility for upholding and protecting these rights. Delegates representing 47 nations at MUNUC XXIV will undertake some of the most prevalent issues facing the Council today, including the rights of children in war, as well as the consequences of communities living in extreme poverty. Inevitably, UNHRC will confront the limits of an international political body – opposing ideologies and cultural notions may inhibit the Council’s ability to take substantial action. How MUNUC XXIV’s delegates approach these obstacles will determine the success of their response, influencing not only current generations, but also those still to come.
